Interview with the CEO of Choice Cargo

We conducted an interview with Alberto Cuglievan so that you can get to know our founding director.

Q: What does Choice Cargo mean to you?
A: Talking about Choice Cargo SAC means to me, a family of logistics professionals, who provide quality service to our clients. I remember, almost 39 years ago, when we started with only 4 people with an office of 15 m2, we grew little by little, incorporating very valuable personnel for me and that despite the time, many of them are still in contact with us, we have attended Projects. very important ones such as Fluor Daniel, Minera Tintaya, Cerro Verde, projects in the jungle with Pluspetrol, Antamina; I remember the trips to be able to close business with strategic partner agents that are very important to us. In summary, Choice Cargo was a hotbed of growth for many companies related to the field of comprehensive logistics.

Q: How do you see the investment panorama in the coming years in Peru?
A: I consider that Peru has changed from being a country with great growth potential to a country with very little attractiveness, momentarily, for investors given that the economic and investment policies are not very clear, but since it is a relatively young country; sudden changes in the situation could motivate a great acceleration of investments.

Q: What is the key to success to have a business in Peru for more than 35 years?
A: Have a very competitive staff, committed and trained in what the brand means. For me the most valuable thing is human capital.

Q: How much will logistics in Peru change, with the new short-term investments (new airport city of Lima, new port of Chanchay)?
A: It is a super difficult question, but everything shows that it will be a container HUB worldwide and we must prepare to be aligned with this new port development. I see it as a magnificent opportunity.

Q: What new things are coming for the Choice Group in the coming years?
A: We are thinking about creating an international HUB with the countries bordering Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Bolivia; It is a new land terminal located in the Central Park of Chilca. We are in the process of building the project.
